What the numbers imply—and what they do not
The combination of 19.59 million international overnight visitors, 80.7% occupancy and 44.85 million occupied room nights indicates intensive use of a large hotel inventory. It is reasonable to treat this as context for wear, refurbishment cycles and competitive repositioning. It would be incorrect to convert those operating statistics directly into a count or value of interior-design projects without asset-level capital-expenditure data.
Questions for a hospitality-design brief
- Is the scope a full renovation, soft refurbishment, public-area refresh, room prototype or conversion?
- How many keys and square metres remain operational during the work?
- Which brand standards, operator approvals, mock-up rooms and procurement lead times control the programme?
- Are FF&E, OS&E, artwork, signage, lighting control, kitchen and specialist systems separated in the budget?
- What evidence shows the design team has delivered comparable occupied-hotel work in Dubai?
